IN THE CITY

His early hits were full of energy and enough dynamite to blow up the tower of London. The days of Punk were in full flow and as Weller was still in his teens, his band were at the forefront of the generation that shook the nation. In the years to come the Jam would mellow out slightly and as he morphed into the Style Council the anger and weight would start to pass out of the band. But their early tunes and In The City in particular were anthems for the youth of England alongside bands like the Clash and the Pistols, the Jam were up there in full force.

PREFAB SPROUT B-SIDES Paddy Mcaloon and his band Prefab Sprout are one of the finest Rock/Pop/Indie crossover bands of the 80's & 90's and beyond With varying degrees of commercial success over the years, they have certainly earned their place in music history. But there is another story to hot dogs and jumping frogs. There is a side to the groups legacy that generally only the die hard fans and collectors usually know. A world where Mcaloon wrote and recorded some of his finest lyrics, that were crafted into beautifully structured compositions. In my opinion some of these were better than the groups singles over the years.
